Korean history: Korea was colonized by japan.
In 1904, the Russo-Japanese War broke out.
In February 1904, Japan made a compulsory treaty to make Korea a strategic hub, and Korea's foreign policy was lost.
In August 1904, Japan took the initiative in the Russo-Japanese War and carried out colonization of Korea in earnest.
In November 1905, Japan established the Residency-General in Korea. So Korea became a protectorate of Japan and foreign diplomats in Korea withdrew.
In July 1907, Korea's King Gojong dispatched a special envoy to The Hague, the Netherlands, where the international Peace Conference is held.
But they were prevented from entering the Peace Palace where the International Peace Conference is held, and one of them, Lee Jun, died in The Hague. Now there is a peace museum to commemorate him in the Hague, Netherlands. It was a hostel where he stayed at the time.
With that pretext, Japan forcibly abdicated the King Gojong.
In August 1910, Japan concluded a merger treaty with Korea and deprived its national sovereignty. Thus, the Japanese colonial rule lasted for 36 years.
